AP exams have traditionally been paper-and-pencil exams. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the exams were administered in an online format only in 2020 and both online and paper-and-pencil in 2021. In the spring of 2022, the AP exam format will once again be a paper-and-pencil only format.
