Do you pay for IB exams?
Effective November 2019:
IB will no longer charge a $172 candidate registration fee. Historically, this flat fee applied to each student registering for IB examinations on top of the per subject fee of $119. Eliminating this fee opens the door to more IB students.
Is the IB program expensive?

Is IB worth it in Canada?
IB Diploma graduates receive excellent recognition from university admissions offices in Canada, the USA and abroad. The recognition in Canada includes early acceptance, advanced standing, and eligibility for special IB scholarships, as well as traditional university scholarships.
How many IB exams do you take?
Of the six exams, three are taken at the standard level (after a minimum of 150 teaching hours), and three taken at the higher level (after a minimum of 240 teaching hours). IB students take their exams in May of their senior year.

What percentage of IB students get the diploma?
The international IB Diploma rate (the percentage of students who received IB Diplomas out of those who were Diploma candidates) is about 80%. This means that around 20% of students who complete the IB curriculum above do not receive an IB Diploma.
How many times can you retake IB exams?
Resitting your IB exams
The number of times you can retake a subject is up to three in three different exam sessions. Check for the nitty gritty details at your school as it may follow different regulations. If you want to retake in November, you’d need to register by July 29 to qualify for lower registration fees.
Can you get the IB diploma if you fail the extended essay?
A maximum of three points are awarded according to a student’s combined performance in both the extended essay and theory of knowledge. A student who fails to submit an extended essay will not be awarded a diploma.
